The council gives the awards of the IV Photography Contest at the showground’s catwalk

Edgar Magdalena and Juanmi Alemany, first and second prize, received the respective trophies from the Economic Vice President, Efrain Medina, along with the other finalists.

Tenerife – 05.17.2015. The economic Vice President of Tenerife’s Council, Efraín Medina, delivered this Friday (17th), prior to the III Conference of Fashion Professionals, the awards and trophies to the winners of the IV Tenerife Photography Fashion Contest, focused this year on the theme ‘Fashion & Sea’.

This year, the venue to welcome the winners was the showgrounds of the capital, scene that hosted the first of the 50 parades planned. The winner of this year, Edgar Magdalena and the runner, Juanmi Alemany, received a cash prize of 2,000 and 1,000 euros, respectively, together with a trophy made by Moisés Afonso , a Blacksmithing National Prize.

Also, with them, Enrique Tapia, Mónica Lavera  Hernandez, Juan Andrés Hernández Velázquez, Javier Velasco, Aleksei Ivanov, Magdalena Pierwocha, finalists of this event, were presented with their awards.

Efraín Medina congratulated the winners, finalists and participants, this year, 24 professionals that presented 142 photographs to the competition. Thus, it stated that “with all these professionals we aim to create a platform on the island so they can bid on services dedicated to the fashion industry.” He added that “we must create synergies and opportunities to benefit everyone.”

The jury, composed of professionals from different fields, made the decision during a meeting in the City Council last March 12, after a long deliberation given the quality of the images of the 20 finalists.

The finalist photographs of the four editions of this contest will be exhibited at the showgrounds until Sunday (day 19), when the days of fashion and parallel textile major exhibition alongside  to this important event will close down. Also, the marquees of different tram stops will show the winners and finalists.

Efraín Medina recalled that the purpose of this contest is to promote creative work related to fashion and encourage the work and creativity of both professional and amateur, giving them the opportunity to exhibit their work in a main show.
