The Cabildo and the CEOE promote the textile industry through the Canarian Fashion Cluster

The island president, Carlos Alonso, and the socioeconomic vice president, Efraín Medina, met with managers of the employers and the group of companies

Tenerife– The Cabildo de Tenerife and the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Santa Cruz de Tenerife-CEOE promote and strengthen the sector and the textile industry of the Island through the creation of the Cluster of Fashion in the Canary Islands. The president of the Cabildo, Carlos Alonso, the socioeconomic vice-president, Efraín Medina, and the general secretary of the CEOE, Eduardo Bezares, met yesterday, day 7, with members of the aforementioned business group in order to know the planned lines of action and the main objectives pursued by this entity.

The Canarian Fashion Cluster allows the sector to work in a coordinated way to increase innovation, dynamization, internationalization, cooperation, excellence, productivity, competitiveness and economic development of this area of the economy. This business group acquires special meaning in the Canary Islands as it is a fragmented territory and far from the European environment, since it allows integrating the value chain of the textile, fashion and clothing sector to achieve the total development of the fashion industry on the Island.

Among the actions planned for the cluster is the promotion and dissemination of the sector and its companies; the design and implementation of quality and innovation processes, promote training and lifelong learning of human resources; the promotion of agreements, agreements and contracts between members and between these and surrounding entities; the attraction of markets, talents and investments, the creation of new complementary activities in the sector and the enhancement of a differentiated and local product, among others.

The Cluster is made up of designers, training centers, manufacturers, public institutions and different private companies that see in the sector an opportunity for economic development and the creation of quality employment. Likewise, public or private individuals or legal entities that have among their aims the activities linked to the integral management of the supply chain, the fashion value chain, as well as complementary activities of interest to this association, may also join this association.
