El Recinto Ferial retoma su actividad en octubre tras la paralización por el Covid-19

El Recinto Ferial de Tenerife retomará su actividad a partir de octubre, después de haber tenido que paralizar todas las ferias y congresos durante los últimos meses debido a la pandemia por el nuevo coronavirus. Así lo anunció ayer el Cabildo tinerfeño, que informó de que la Semana de la Moda, que se celebrará entre el 1 y el 3 de octubre, será la primera cita del nuevo calendario de esta instalación. La programación proseguirá con Feboda, la feria dedicada a los eventos nupciales, que tendrá lugar entre el 6 y el 8 de noviembre.

La directora insular de Desarrollo Económico de Tenerife, Ermitas Moreira, dio a conocer ayer a las empresas interesadas en participar en estas ferias las características de “estos encuentros con los que retomamos la actividad adaptándonos a los protocolos y las medidas de prevención establecidas por Salud Pública y el Gobierno de Canarias“.

De esta manera, el Recinto Ferial volverá a abrir sus puertas para acoger la celebración de la Semana de la Moda de Tenerife, un evento que sustituye a la Feria Internacional de la Moda, que debió haberse celebrado como cada año en el mes de abril, pero que tuvo que ser cancelada por la emergencia sanitaria.

Las medidas de seguridad debido al coronavirus han obligado a la Institución ferial ha realizar una serie de modificaciones en la programación y en el formato de este encuentro. El primer día tendrán lugar jornadas de formación y mesas redondas, para “posteriormente continuar la actividad ferial en formato showroom, en la sala multiusos del Recinto Ferial”, afirma Moreira.

Otra de las novedades se desarrollará durante la jornada del sábado 3 de octubre cuando Tenerife “se convertirá en diferentes puntos en una gran pasarela con desfiles de moda en espacios abiertos, acercando este sector a los vecinos de toda la Isla”.

En cuanto a Feboda, que normalmente tiene lugar cada año en el mes de octubre, en 2020 le tocará celebrarse en noviembre. Con ella, se pretende “recuperar este encuentro como el referente de las bodas y las celebraciones en Tenerife y en Canarias, en general”, añade la directora insular.

Sin embargo, tendrá características diferentes, ya que la gran mayoría de los enlaces han tenido que ser pospuestos incluso más allá de 2021. De esta manera, la Institución ferial ha ofrecido a las empresas interesadas en participar en esta muestra un descuento del 50%. Además, se incluirá una estrategia turística enfocada en potenciar la red de empresas dedicadas a organizar eventos “dando proyección a la Isla como un lugar ideal para la celebración de todo tipo actividades en un entorno seguro”, recalcó Moreira.

Pero la Semana de la Moda y Feboda no son los únicos encuentros que Moreira espera que acoja el Recinto Ferial en los próximos meses. Si la situación sanitaria lo permite, el Cabildo tiene previsto también la realización de otros eventos como el Parque Infantil de Tenerife (PIT), que tradicionalmente se celebra desde finales de diciembre hasta Reyes, y Exposaldo, que ocupa el Recinto cada año en enero.

Moreiras explica que, en el primer caso, se trata de una feria que no puede perderse, ya que es todo un referente para la Isla, pero la actual situación sanitaria obliga a realizar modificaciones que todavía están por concretar. Lo mismo ocurre con Expolsaldo, una feria en la que las aglomeraciones, al menos en esta próxima edición, deberán desaparecer, para lo que la Institución valora ampliar los días de celebración.

Sin embargo, otras ferias que tuvieron que ser canceladas en los últimos meses debido a la pandemia, como GastroCanarias, no volverán hasta el año que viene.

En cuanto a los protocolos de seguridad establecidos en la “nueva normalidad” decretada por el Gobierno de Canarias, el Recinto Ferial “se ha puesto al día siguiendo igualmente las recomendaciones del protocolo general diseñado desde la Unión Ferias Internacionales (UFI) con controles establecidos en los accesos, normas generales para expositores, recorridos de los visitantes, señalizaciones, entre otras medidas”, según destaco el gerente de la Institución Ferial de Tenerife, Ignacio Domínguez, también presente en la reunión.

El Recinto ferial retoma ahora su actividad tradicional, pero hay que recordar que no se mantuvo cerrado durante los meses de confinamiento, ya que tuvo que albergar un hospital de campaña con 180 camas, que no entró en funcionamiento.

In this way, the Fairgrounds will reopen its doors to host the Tenerife Fashion Week celebration, an event that replaces the International Fashion Fair, which should have been held as every year in April. but it had to be canceled due to the health emergency.

The security measures due to the coronavirus have forced the Fair Institution to make a series of modifications in the programming and in the format of this meeting. On the first day there will be training sessions and round tables, to “later continue the fair activity in a showroom format, in the multipurpose room of the Fairgrounds”, says Moreira.

Another novelty will take place during the day on Saturday, October 3, when Tenerife “will become at different points in a great catwalk with fashion shows in open spaces, bringing this sector closer to the residents of the entire Island.”

As for Feboda, which normally takes place every year in the month of October, in 2020 it will be held in November. With it, it is intended “to recover this meeting as the benchmark for weddings and celebrations in Tenerife and the Canary Islands, in general,” adds the insular director.

However, it will have different characteristics, since the vast majority of links have had to be postponed even beyond 2021. In this way, the Fair Institution has offered companies interested in participating in this exhibition a 50% discount. In addition, it will include a tourist strategy focused on strengthening the network of companies dedicated to organizing events “giving projection to the Island as an ideal place for holding all kinds of activities in a safe environment,” Moreira stressed.

But Fashion Week and Feboda are not the only meetings that Moreira hopes the Fairgrounds will host in the coming months. If the health situation allows it, the Cabildo also plans to hold other events such as the Tenerife Children’s Park (PIT), which is traditionally held from the end of December until Reyes, and Exposaldo, which occupies the Campus every year in January.

Moreiras explains that, in the first case, it is a fair that cannot be missed, since it is a benchmark for the Island, but the current health situation requires modifications that have yet to be finalized. The same happens with Expolsaldo, a fair in which the crowds, at least in this next edition, must disappear, for which the Institution values ​​extending the days of celebration.

However, other fairs that had to be canceled in recent months due to the pandemic, such as GastroCanarias, will not return until next year.
