The economic vice president, Efrain Medina, and the director of the Canary Islands Public Television & Radio, Santiago Negrín, today signed an agreement by which the island corporation cedes to the entity all the rights of exploitation of the airing of the Competition of Young Designers of Tenerife, which will take place on March 30 at the Fairgrounds, in the framework of the International Fashion Fair of Tenerife.
It is to be noted that this is a competition in which five finalists (Adriá Doy Pou and Anna Vendrell (Barcelona), Gisela Dorta and Francisco Medina (Tenerife), Yasmina Concepción Medina (Almería), Marina Moreno and Joel Leiva (Barcelona) and Adrián Cubero (Valencia), show their creations on an 18-meter walkway through which 60 models will parade under a careful staging. It will also have the presence of the journalist of the Canary Television Radio, Laura Afonso.
Efrain Medina expressed his gratitude to the director of the entity “for the absolute support that lends to fashion.” “We are very proud,” he said, “of having a public entity like this, and that our images can reach all the Canary Islands and the rest of the world through the supports they offer us. There will be many people following us through them. ”
For his part, Santiago Negrín thanked the confidence that the Cabildo has placed in this media “to lead and carry forward a major event for the fashion industry as it is this contest.” “Let’s not forget,” he added, “that it is a sector that creates employment, and if we can help from Radio Televisión Canaria to promote it, we’ll do it. In addition to fulfilling our public service work, let’s try to make the fashion sector go forward and continue to create jobs ”
The Tenerife International Fashion Fair, organized by the Cabildo, will gather more than one hundred companies in the sector in the Fair. This event, which takes on an international dimension in this edition, will count on some 9,000 square meters of exhibition and another 3,000 reserved for catwalk. Representatives from different countries such as Senegal, Colombia or Portugal (Madeira) will be present, which will give a new attraction to this important professional event for the promotion and commercialization of fashion that is made in Tenerife and in the rest of the Canary Islands.
