Five craftsmen of the Island of different trades show their works to the public in a stand located in the Fairground of Santa Cruz
The Portuguese designer Joao Rolo wanted to know the work that artisans do and came to talk with them
Tenerife– 04/14/2018. The International Fashion Fair of Tenerife, organized by the Cabildo, brings together five artisans related to the sector and linked to the Tenerife Fashion & Craft project, a new line of marketing attached to Tenerife Moda. The Portuguese designer Joao Rolo, who presented his new collection as a world premiere in the framework of the Young Designers Contest, approached [Saturday 14] to learn about the work that these artisans develop and valued the effort to preserve the identity of the Islands.
The socioeconomic vice president, Efraín Medina, highlights the constant commitment of the Corporation to promote synergies between the artisan sector and fashion, uniting in this great appointment with the island’s trends to artisan firms that work in different trades, which range from weaving to ceramics. In this regard, he remembers that the objective of the International Fashion Fair of Tenerife is none other than to bet on economic development through commercialization.
