The School of Art and Design Fernando Estévez (Tenerife) has opened the pre-registration deadline for the academic year 2017-18 in Fashion Design, which is among the wide range of studies that can be done, being the Advanced Artistic Studies of Design the titles of higher academic level, along with the Formative Cycles of Intermediate and Bachelor’s degrees.
Within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), Fashion Design is the equivalent to a degree in Bologna. Both are included in level 2 of the MECES (Spanish Qualification Framework for Higher Education). It consists of four academic courses and concludes with a final work of career. It has traditional contents in the branch of the drawing or the volume, as well as in new technologies that will be given a capital importance, in addition to the specific ones related to technological procedures associated with fashion and art. One of the characteristics of this title is its advanced level.
The textile industry and the design industry is advancing by leaps and bounds, but as in all fields and economic sectors is not easy. Having an official centre where to take these design degrees is a leap forward for the future of Fashion in the Archipelago.
The Deputy Minister of Socioeconomic Development of the Cabildo notes that in Tenerife the training in fashion design at university level taught at the Fernando Estévez School is a platform for future designers to prepare. The design is a field of employment, and entrepreneurship is increasing. He adds that from the program Tenerife Moda of the Cabildo is committed to train and collaborate with the School and with the practices, both in the department of communication, and design in the companies themselves and firms of the program.
This course 2017-18 would be the fifth promotion of this specialty that aims to offer the necessary degree to the students, which allows them to develop their professional future in the fashion sector.
