The international firm Amato, which presented their collection ‘War Collection’ on the catwalk, put the finishing touch to a unique show that had fashion as protagonist.
Tenerife– 12/04/2019. Álvaro Lucas Santos, with his collection ‘Lissomwo’, was the winner yesterday, day 11, of the XI Tenerife International Young Designers Competition held in the capital’s Fairground. In the contest organized by the Cabildo a total of six finalists, previously chosen from about a hundred new creators from different parts of the world, participated. Likewise, Marc Phillipe Guerin came in second place with his proposal ‘Deep Rose’ and Samuel González Salguero with ‘Corazón Loco’ won the jury prize for the most commercial collection.
The event, which kicks off the International Fashion Fair of Tenerife to be held until Sunday, day 14, in the Fairground, was attended by the president of the Cabildo, Carlos Alonso; the socioeconomic vice president, Efraín Medina; the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Bermúdez; the director of Tenerife Moda, José Eugenio Sánchez Giusepe, as well as different authorities and representatives of the fashion and textile clothing sector and numerous local and national media, along with distinguished stylists and influencers.
In this new edition of the international competition, Samuel González Salguero (Barcelona), Marc Phillipe Guerin (Tenerife), Juan Antonio Real Camarero (Seville), Álvaro Lucas Santos (Valladolid), José Pérez Rubio (Jaén) and Antonio Luque Carmona (Cordova) participated as finalists. During the event, a recognition was also given to the designer Amato and Bibiana Fernández, as well as the award to the winner of the Tenerife Moda Photo Contest, which was granted this year to Adrián Cabrera.
The show, presented by journalists María Doménech and Eugenio González, was placed on a renovated catwalk that also counted as a VIP guest Filipino Haute Couture creator, Furne One, alma mater of the firm Amato, based in the Arab Emirates and presented its new proposal entitled ‘War Collection’ in Tenerife.
The jury was formed by Bibiana Fernández, Spanish actress, president; Eduardo Navarrete, contestant of the TVE talent show ‘Maestros de la Costura’; Marianela Hernández, Influencer; Deepak Daswani, Cybersecurity expert, speaker and media contributor; Agoney Melián, vice president of Young Entrepreneurs of Tenerife; Gregorio Hernández, director of the CIFP Las Indias; Marisa Velázquez, designer, entrepreneur and creative director of the firm By Loleiro; Mariam Moragas, television presenter; Eva Hernández, Piazza Comunicación; Dulce Xerach Pérez, president of the Amigos del Espacio Cultural El Tanque and writer; and Alex Mercurio, stylist and youtuber.
Other professionals acted as members of the jury, such as José Acosta, owner of the José Acosta Style brand, Javier Eloy Campos, graduate in Fine Arts and professor of the Higher Degree of Styling and Clothing; Edgar Magdalena, director of Tenerife Fashion Becah Costa Adeje, photographer and director of Tenerife Moda Magazine; Alejandro Tosco de Castro, plastic artist; Rómulo Leal, event organizer; María Hernández, director of the Meridiano Shopping Center; José Manuel Pérez, creative director of Onfire Design & Marketing; Ascensión Gómez, designer and creative director of Ola Olita and The Knot Company; María del Carmen Almenara, professor of CIFP Las Indias, specialist in fashion and artisan in traditional Canarian clothing; Itahisa García and Sergio López, designers and creatives of the firm Amarca; Ángel Venancio Guesdes, Styling Director of the Carnival of SB de Te de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria; José Eugenio Sánchez, director of Tenerife Moda; and Ricardo Cólogan, manager of the Insular Crafts Company.
