The event takes place this Saturday in Gran Canaria
Tenerife – 09/02/2015. Two firms from Tenerife Moda, Juan Carlos Armas and Diseños Amarca will participate this Saturday, 5th, in the De Vega couture catwalk in the municipality of San Mateo in Gran Canaria. The aim of this show is the recognition of professional artisans cutting and sewing in Vega de San Mateo, in support of this sector’s economic growth in the region and the intention of training all those who want to continue this profession.
The economic vice president, Efrain Medina, stresses the importance of both islands cooperation in disseminating the work of haute couture, based crafts. “From the Cabildo of Tenerife we have always supported the craftsmanship, in that we’ve all gone together, walking and working in the same direction, creating synergies between fashion and handicrafts”.
This will be the fifth time the designer Juan Carlos Armas participates in this catwalk, coinciding with the five editions of it. For this occasion the company will present its collection ‘Love’, epitome of luxury craft with high quality materials, attention to detail and visual effects that conclude in elegant and sophisticated designs. Juan Carlos Armas has been proposed to describe the love through different garments, largely inspired by film divas with touches of the 60s.
